Living an Attitude of Gratitude

Day 944

Today I am thankful:

For those who share their crochet patterns online for free. I found an awesome shawl pattern that I’m going to try.

For those who use their talents to help others all over the world.

For seed banks, who are saving heirloom seeds and making them available to backyard gardeners.

  1. I never learned to knit or crochet, much to my mother’s chagrin. She used to crochet trim for our sheets and pillowcases — not much of that available at Linens’n’Things!

    • My grandmother taught me to knit, crochet, embroider, do tapestry, tatting, smocking, and just about every other needle art there is. I haven’t done any of it in a while and need to get back to it. I find it relaxing.

Where do you find such useful info like a new croquet pattern for a schawl? Or a seed bank of heirloom seeds for a backyard gardner? I need to prowl the internet, as you do.
Tonight it was brought home to me again what a thin thread our existence, as we know it, hangs. One moment someone is barbecuing a Friday dinner and the next, a whole home and way of life is destroyed by fire. Each moment counts …each and every one.
We need to be careful and care for one another.

    • I agree, Iva. I am in several Facebook groups or follow groups where I find that information. I don’t know about seed banks where you are, but a Google search should show you if there are any. And yes, life is so fragile.
