Living an Attitude of Gratitude

Day 1,012

Today I am thankful:

For my books. Every time I think about downsizing and getting rid of some of my books, it makes me sad. I can’t bear to part with any of them.

For our music. I have some of it in iTunes, but most is still on CDs that I really need to get into the computer.

For our video collection. We have lots of movies, and Steve watches them frequently. I would much rather read a book.

  1. I’ve found out the hard way that some books are irreplaceable…and once you give them away, you might never get them back again. I’ve done that, and will never do it again unless I absolutely have to. Why? Why do it unless you really need to – and if that time ever comes, you’ll be ready and it won’t hurt so much. That’s what I tell myself now. They’re old friends, I can’t just toss them out. It makes me weep to even think of tossing some of those old friends away. Won’t do it – don’t do it until you have to! ❤

  2. Ruth .. Books. Music. Movies. Oh … The very things that make life worth living!!! Oh .. I would add whiskey to all these pleasures. 😉 As far as I know, no other living creatures can create all these things except us, human beings. I suppose I love a good movie very much, too. Very very much. But books do top the list. I have gone over toe books. You can find all your oldies, but goodies there. I guarantee. If you should fund that you have thrown out something you are yearning for. I am Not trying to talk you into ebooks or anything else for that matter. Just letting you .. And Sharon know, that’s all.

Books, music and movies .. Oh Ruth, there is so much to read, see and hear!!! That IS a lot to be grateful for!!!! Bless you! You have put this big smile on my face here. Thank you so much!!!

    • Ha! Ha! “Toe books” … the result of my using the T9 version that also suggests words and even phrases 😋. The suggestions are so funny sometimes. So, I have decided to use it. I meant ” to ebooks”.

      😇

    • I’m not getting rid of my books yet! There are a few I have that are no longer in print, so they are irreplaceable!! And I have a huge library of ebooks, too. Some of them are duplicates of books I have in physical form and others are new books.

  3. PS. I see that you used a Led Zeppelin quote on Twitter. Seems he had his clear moments, too .. ☺️
