Day 114

Today I am thankful:

For quiet mornings, just at daybreak, when the birds are frantically calling and flying every which way, while we sit on our back porch with our morning coffee watching the frenzied comings and goings.

For cool evenings as we sit on the back porch, just after sunset, when there is usually a gentle breeze blowing, the birds have gone to roost, and the geckos are calling to each other or sounding a warning, I’m not sure which.

For the time to sit and watch our dogs play and chase each other and any bird that’s stupid enough to land on the ground in the backyard. They never catch one, but they don’t give up trying!

Day 89

Today I am thankful:

That the morning was overcast, because my sunglasses broke when I put them on this morning.

That the evening was overcast, because it created a gorgeous sunset.

That I don’t have to go back to work for more than a week.

Day 54

Today I am thankful:

That I live where we are surrounded by mountains; not only are they beautiful to look at, but they also block the worst of the sunrise and sunset on my commutes to and from work.

That the world I live in is filled with love and beauty.

That I am eager to get home every evening to check the progress on the orange tree buds – almost ready.

Day 39

Today I am thankful:

That it rained; we needed rain and got quite a bit.

That it was cloudy most of the day; the best sunrises and sunsets happen when there are clouds.

That my partner has work; not a big job, but it could lead to more (keeping our fingers crossed on this one!)

Day 12

Today I am thankful:

That I live in Arizona where today was a beautiful day; sunshine, a light breeze, and a high in the mid 60s.

That I was able to visit with my friend who had surgery yesterday; the surgeon says they got all the cancerous cells – YAY

That I drove home after the sun went down so the setting sun wasn’t in my eyes all the way home.

Day 5

Today I am thankful:

That I have a job, even though there are days like today when I come home exhausted after a stressful day.

That I live where the weather is beautiful for most of the year and I was able to see the gorgeous full moon this morning before it set, the colorful sunrise this morning, and a spectacular sunset as I was driving home.

That I have a great partner who is willing to cook every night even though he might have had a stressful day, too.
